PODCASTS
The information you need but don’t have the time or the resources to find.
Through the podcast seasons, I delve into residential architectural problems in detail. As an architect, I ask the questions that matter, aiming to uncover the up-to-date information that you need to solve your problems. The content is designed to be practical and directly applicable to your work.
COURSES
For emerging architects, the courses will help you fast-track your learning and give you the answers you are struggling to find…or, in most cases, don’t even know to ask.
Architecture is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. It takes years of dedication and learning after graduating to truly master this profession.
When I graduated with my Architectural degree in 1998, I still felt I knew nothing, despite completing six years of university, three years of almost full-time work in an architectural practice, and graduating with honours. I had a complete lack of practical knowledge.
Practical knowledge about the entire design and construction process, including who’s involved, what they do, and how everything comes together, gives you the confidence to do your job well. It enables you to create outstanding designs, stay on budget, get the right results for your client and our world… and run your project efficiently.
Unfortunately, this practical knowledge can be hard to obtain. You can get it through practice if you’ve got excellent senior architect mentors who have the time to teach you. But that’s often not the case for most young Architects. Budgets are tight, regulations, environmental and financial challenges are increasing, overheads are growing, and everyone is time-poor.
The courses will help you overcome these challenges and become a better and more employable architect sooner.
The course content was derived from my experience running my practice Skyring Architects over the past 15 years and working closely with hundreds of clients, plus my consultants, trades, and suppliers. I regularly update the courses as I learn more through the podcasts and as regulations change.
